Laat je niet afschrikken door het woord etiquette. Emily Post schrijft eigenlijk over vriendelijkheid, gemak en het niet in verlegenheid brengen van andere mensen. Haar volledige eerste editie uit 1922 behandelt alles, van kennismakingen en tafelmanieren tot bruiloften, brieven en wat je moet dragen. Sommige regels zullen je laten glimlachen omdat de tijden zijn veranderd. Het hart van het boek is helemaal niet veranderd. Goede manieren, laat zij zien, zijn zichtbaar gemaakte consideratie.
