Play with sound, no lessons needed
Music toys anyone can play, no lessons and no wrong notes.
Chrome Music Lab is a set of small music toys that anyone can use in a browser. Draw a picture and hear it played, tap out a rhythm, or build a song on a simple grid.
Each one quietly teaches something about how music works, without a single written note. Young children often figure it out faster than the adults beside them.
Try this first
Open Song Maker first and tap a few squares: you have just written a melody. Then try Kandinsky, which turns drawings into sound, and let the youngest person in the room run the show.
Good to know
A Google Creative Lab project. The site carries no licence line, though its code is Apache 2.0. Everything runs in the browser; there is nothing to install.

Treasures are wonderful free things made by other people. Starvard gathers them with admiration; the credit is all theirs.
